Vegetarians go elsewhere. Why can't a restaurant who specializes in burgers just keep a package of veggie burgers in the freezer? So, I am with some friends who wanted a place we could walk to... I go along despite low expectations to which I was amply rewarded. sometimes your expectations can't be low enough. The ONLY thing on their menu is veggie or plain pizza. Every one of their salads have meat. Pathetic. Wraps... all meat! Come on! So the pizza comes, I ask for giardinera peppers, the waitress says they don't have them, no hot sauce either! Okay, I'll just eat this bland thing, it's only lunch... cardboard! The price for mediocrity? $13 for a bad 10" pizza!! None of my omnivorous friends were volunteering positive but nobody was complaining.

Been here a couple times, great staff and stellar food! Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area! Food isn't typical bar food, it's much better!!!

Ok, to be clear, the stars are for the bands and the free shuttle... If I'm going out to just eat I'd probably skip but we go there for certain bands and though outside venues are always better this place isn't to bad unless you get a table by the really crazy people the probably should buy a mirror before they go out dancing lol,

Came here for the first time last night for a party. The food was great! We had the typical bar fare buffet along with an awesome chopped salad and wings. The wait staff was fast and always around even though the place was packed. Blackhawks bar! The game was on everywhere you looked! Great place for a party and to hang out. I'll be back!

Been here twice now. Food was hot, arrived quickly, and tasted great both times. Love the variety of music & food selection. The only criticism I have is that service is somewhat slow. When the server takes the order, whether it's food or drink, it's quick to arrive. Getting a server to come to the table, on the other hand, is a sometimes a different story. We waited to place an order, for the bill, a box, and her to pick up payment & return the change. BUT the food & service otherwise, was great. Even the dishes were cleared promptly by the busboy. Very friendly.

$5 cover for what I would think is the band. Got there at 8:30 and the place was packed. ok no problem. 3 bartenders and one doing the waitresses only, that's the problem. Also 10:30 and not even a sign of the band. Beer prices are ok if you can get one. Like the place but I think they are making enough not to be charging cover at least 2hours before the band starts and add more bartenders for god sakes. I'm done with my rant.

Great service only if you're a middle aged guy who the waitresses think they can flirt with and get a big tip from. Otherwise, forget it.

I'm pretty particular on what I eat. I find it to be very difficult to eat out and still maintain my healthy eating lifestyle. Fire Bar is one place I don't have to worry about with that!! Their kabobs are amazing! Juicy, grilled chunks of chicken and steak loaded up with crisp slices of peppers, tomatoes, and mushrooms, perfect for lunch or dinner. The rest of their selection (food wise) is really impressive. It's not the basic "bar scene" food you would expect. Which makes sense considering this place isn't the annoying club rat joint. From live bands, to the range of awesome dance music, to watching the games, it's a great place to go grab some food, drinks, and hang out with some friends. The staff is really welcoming as well. When I walked in for the first time it felt like I've been there since day one of the place opening. The waitress was attentive without being annoying and overbearing. Prices weren't overbearing either. If you're in the area I definitely recommend coming here.... If you're not in the area, this place is definitely worth the drive!!

Love this place!!! When I'm visiting in the burbs this place it a MUST for me!!! Super friendly staff and tasty food. They've got great DJ's that listen to requests and my favorite... The drinks are never watered down :)

Attended a CL Class reunion at this site. We had the backroom and it was fine. No hassles, no issues. The main bar had a clientele that I wouldnt hang out with, so I doubt I will be back, but for a younger crowd, ok.

My friends and I went to fire bar for the Blackhawks game this past week. Even though there weren't any tables left it was still comfortable to stand for the whole game. The drinks were great and the staff were very helpful. Even though the place was packed with over 400 people the service was still speedy. I would definitely go there again and recommend it to anyone I know.

I like this place on a Friday or Saturday, if there is a band, but, tonight, I was sitting at the bar, and keg blew more than just a little beer on to my head. I was pretty much was told to deal with it. I guess they make enough money not to give a crap but I didn't enjoy it.

Did not think I can go into a local establishment and have a great Prime Rib. But I did - at Fire Bar and Grill for A Valentine's Day special. Great job!!!!

I've been coming here for a few years and tonight was a really bad experience. We paid a cover to get in and no band for the 2 hours we were there. The blonde bartender was the only one paying attention to us when we were able to get remotely close. The other bartender tended to the servers only. I don't know if 16 candles plays for the door but I wouldn't go back for bands unless they're great bands that I truly support.

Was on my way to have dinner with a friend thought I best call and make sure when cover charge of $5.00 per person atarys, called and the first girl said 10 I think? Followed by, I have no idea.... I asked for someone who did know. I got a firm 9:00 answer. Showed up and was told it started at 8:00 now I'm not going for band, only dinner and was denied anyway. My friends mind you were only steps in front of me and were not charged!!! They got I'm b4 8:00..... After a few minutes of arguing with bouncer, I decided to call back and see what time they said now! Well I was left on hold looked at my phone to see how long I had been holding only to realize my phone just now says 8:00 !!!! All that arguing and I was in the door after all before 8:00 now bouncer totally ignoring me and so my friend have him the $$ against my will but we walked in and left.... She got her $ back but really they needed our $10.00 more than the $80 dinner and bar tab they didnt get! Ha ! They lost me as a Customer forever!

The Philly Cheese Steak was fantastic! Good specials and plenty of TVs to watch the game.

I was quite surprised at the poor service at this place. The food was only so-so. Since my party came for dinner and no alcohol our server took our order and then disappeared. We had to ask other servers to refill our beverages and when it came time to pay the bill our server still didn't make an appearance. We almost left without paying because she didn't return to take our payment for over 20 minutes! At this point the bus boys had cleared the table and we were just waiting to leave. I haven't been back since.

I was at Fire Bar for a party last night. I've lived in Crystal Lake for a long time and just moved to the Lake In The Hills/South Crystal Lake area. I feel that there are SO many better places in downtown Crystal Lake like Duke's and Williams Street Public House which have actual healthy vegetarian food as well as a wonderful selection of beers, wines and drinks. Those places are always packed and usually with interesting, friendly, cool people. Fire Bar was dead last night and it literally looked like a club Karma scene from Jersey Shore, complete with juice heads, but with slightly more pathetic customers. The drinks were watered down, the setup was confusing (no room to dance as there were tables all over the place and the stage was oddly designed, so I'm not sure how bands are able to play there comfortably) and the bouncer literally held his hand out and said nothing when I walked in. I was like what do you want, a high five? A fist bump? You've gotta tell me what you're actually asking me for. I'm not planning on handing over my wallet and letting you decide. So finally he was like yeah okay I just need an ID. I was like cool, we could've covered that like five minutes ago, but whatevs. It was just an odd experience. I didn't feel like being in the "party" mood or like dancing or having fun. I kind of just felt like rolling my eyes and maybe kicking a few people in the shins on the way by for being kind of douchy and imagining they're way cooler than what they are. There was some girl there parading her icky, beer gutted alcoholic boyfriend around like she was Angelina with Brad Pitt or something. Every time they came close to me, there was bitchiness afoot. I was like dude, I'm so not interested. No one is. Be pleasant and maybe you'll make some actual friends. No need to be all territorial and weird. I love the friends I was there with and the waitress I spoke with was super nice, but overall, I am NOT a fan. I like that they offer free shuttles and I do feel that adding some actual sit down tables rather than long, oddly shaped bar tables with stools would be a nice idea, as would adding vegetarian and healthy fare. It might attract a higher class of clientele as well-like Duke's or Williams Street Public House. I want to be impressed here, I'm just not. Also, watered down drinks is the term of the day here. As I said, not a fan.

I've had two parties here in the last 3 months, one personal and one for work. The first one was for my birthday in December and we had Mary as our server. She was so awesome that I requested he for our company party. The food is always good as well as the service. Highly recommended for parties and/or just a night out with friends.

Wait. Wait. People are giving Fire Bar one and two stars? Where are you from? I live in Chicago and I love coming home to visit Fire Bar for their delicious food and drinks. I get their wings all the time and absolutely love them, perfect for an appetizer or just your meal! Looking for something healthier? Look no further! Just order their amazing chopped salad, it's like Portillos, but has a nice creamy italian dressing with it. Drool. I also have never had an issue with service, busy nights or not. Although most servers are skinny, bleached blonde and know how to show off their assets, if you know what I mean, they are alway attentive and nice. I do wish they brought back the ribs special on saturdays, though. I do miss those ribs! But really, I do not understand these people who are giving this place low stars. Maybe it's the kind of people who can't spell lose the right way. (Hint: it's not with 2 o's!)

I came in out of town with nothing to do so decided to stop for lunch and a few drinks. It was very empty but then again it was 1:30 PM. I sat at the bar and a bartender immediately came up to me for my drink request. Service was very good. I ordered a chicken pita which was loaded with lettuce and tomatoes. The pita bread broke apart on my first bite. The chicken and sauce was very good though. Fries were delicious but needed some seasoning. The overall place looks more like a club than a sports bar. Very dark, open space. They had a bunch of TVs on one wall but no sound on any of them. They were playing music instead of the TVs. Overall, it's not a bad spot but def didn't feel like a sports bar. I wouldn't go back since there was nothing that stood out.

I must say this is a repeat place. Service day or night is always attentive which is important as a business professional. Would recommend it to anyone in search of a good lunch or a an after work drink.

My friends and I have been going to Fire Bar since it opened over 5 years ago and we have never really been disappointed. The food is solid and the drinks are priced right where they should be. We mainly go here to grab a couple drinks, some food, or to watch a basketball or football game. And it is great for all three of those. I don't understand all the negative reviews (and the surprise) about this being "more of a bar than a restaurant". Wasn't it obvious in the name? I mean, it is called Fire BAR and Grill.

If you're not a regular Fire Bar customer and want to feel out of place, this is the bar for you! Seems like all of the customers/staff know each other and if you don't, you're not in the "cool kids club." not very welcoming. Foods not great either

Being there with Friends for Dinner on Easter Sunday. The place is big and spacious. It was not crowded as most of the people may be at home with Family. The bar has a small stage where Local bands perform. Overall, it seemed like it will be a happening place when it comes to life in regular season and non holiday days. The staff was friendly and cheerful. Food was good and freshly prepared. I liked the place and will surely come again to enjoy the live music and drink. Much recommended to friends looking for jolly and cheerful evening.

I couldn't agree more with D S.'s review. The food is sub par and drinks are over priced. OMG, the wait staff is clueless and just stand around BS'ing. I had to raise my hand and flag ours down for a drink, then again for the bill. Not sure if we will go back again.

You either come here when its super busy and get crappy service and overpriced drinks...or you come here when it's dead and get bothered by the waitress every 5 minutes. Either way its a loose. The food sucks here so don't bother ordering anything unless you're too drunk to notice. The only good thing is that every now and then they have fun bands that come here...but of course they have to ruin it by making you pay a cover to get in! They're making a killing on their overpriced drinks...do they really have to add insult to injury?

As a slave to the industry....my friends and I came in on a Tuesday around 7:30pm, and were promptly served by Jen! She knew the specials for the evening and didn't push them uncomfortably. Came by every 10 min. to check on us, and brought our orders to us as we were finishing up the previous. Great service!

I wish I could give Firebar a higher rating, and I say that for a couple reasons. First of all, they are located closeby in a nice location, and also there is a very nice layout inside. Beyond the aesthetics however, it is a major disappointment. This is more of a bar than a restaurant. If you go planning on a nice meal you will be disappointed. It is bar food in sheep's clothing. Also, the service is going to be terrible. If you insist on going please be prepared for this. I say this after experiencing multiple instances of poor service. The waitstaff is attractive however which may make up for it in your eyes... The 'bread and butter' of this place is as a bar, and a lively one at that. Additionally, Firebar is known as a place to watch UFC and boxing matches. If this is your forte you may enjoy this place. However, drinks are overpriced when compared to other establishments in the area. I supposed they want you to pay for the UFC Pay-per-view through your drinks. It is an attractive place that is only skin-deep. Give it a try as it is a local business, but a disappointing one that could be much more (IMO).

I have been here twice in the last month to see bands(16 candles and Wedding Banned), and we always have a great time. They have a $5.00 cover to get in, I didn't think this was too bad because their beers are only $3.00. It does get crowded fast, so if you want a table get there early. We wanted to stand and watch the band so we didn't mind standing the whole time. Great place to just hang out and listen to bands. After the bands are done they do switch to club music...most of the people do not stick around for this so it empties out pretty fast!!

We were there for a party on Friday night - great band! However, I ordered a southwest chicken egg roll appetizer ($8) and a chicken finger app. I got a plate with 3 egg rolls cut and thrown on a plate, and there were 3 chicken fingers, with a plastic cup of sauce thrown on it. For over $7. Really? Our friend reserved space for 35-50 adults. We got there and they had two long tables put together, and another huge party right next to us and those tables should have been ours. There was no where for anyone to sit, and it was packed because of the band, so it was cramped and uncomfortable. Our friend even called the night before to confirm his reservation for over 35 people and then we got there, there was no room. Very disappointing. The Suburban Cowboy band, however, was fabulous! They made up for the restaurant.

Bartenders need to get their head out of you know where during the evening hours. Service during the day is good but I would highly suggest just ordering beer here. Mixed drinks are weak. The food is what it is . Bar food nothing special you can't get anywhere else in town.

Honestly, we've never been disappointed when we've come to Fire Bar. My parents live in the area and when my brother and I are in town we always stop in for food and drinks. My parents don't frequent the bar scene, but Fire Bar offers enough of a restaurant atmosphere to make them happy. The drink specials are good, the food is good, and the service is always friendly. Kabobs were excellent, steak in my steak pita was perfectly cooked, and fish fry was tasty. We were never left with empty drinks, our server Nikki made sure we had water and drink refills. We'll be back next time my brother and I are in town!

This place is all about your expectations of what kind of establishment it is going to be when you go in. Let me get this straight, this is not a restaurant! This is a bar by any other name, all be it one with plenty of tables and seating space to give the illusion of a restaurant, but a bar nonetheless. Therefore, you should not be expecting fine dining for a date night as you are going to get bar food from servers who are watching the clock waiting for their shift end. With that said, I have been here many times, for both football and other sports games, and friday/saturday nights out to party. It is a GREAT place for sports fans, especially during NFL season. They have so many flatscreens and they have every game there televised so it's def a lot of fun on Sundays. As for the nightlife, it's pretty standard for a bar in the area. Some decent drink specials and a good crowd. In front of the bar a make shift dance floor starts to emerge as the night goes on and people get sauced and usually a lot of people get into it. Although, if you really want to dance I would suggest Club 220 (Moretti's at night) up the road.

Our daughter had a destination wedding and we threw a party at Fire Bar for 150 people after we returned. From planning to execution, the folks at Fire Bar made it pleasant and worry-free.

Good place to watch the game or eat some tasty burgers, but dang, if I wanted to check out some juiceheads or Snooki wannabes, I'd head to the shore, babay! What the heck!

Being new-ish to the area of Cary and Crystal Lake, my wife and I love to try new places in the area to explore and through the magic of advertising we stumbled upon Fire Bar and Grill. Although the place was pretty empty(it was a cold Tuesday afternoon), we enjoyed the inviting appeal of the open loft style exposed brick and very high ceilings littered with many brand new flat screen televisions beaming every score and update from every sport in the world! Ok, cool sports bar, we were thinking but we did notice the enticing specials and decided some cold beers and juicy burgers were for lunch. MaryAnne(sp?),a very young looking server who engaged us immediately after we chose a place to seat ourselves, was very attentive and friendly and was not shy about any of the plethora of great food and drink specials that were offered. We ordered the burgers and I had the 1 pound burger cooked PERFECTLY!! To keep this a readable length. This place rocks, has great daily specials, inviting staff, and WONDERFUL food. Check them out and leave the Applebee's and Chili's of the world to the boring and predictable!!

This bar is a good place to go if you want some beers and to watch a game. It's HUGE, so you're pretty much guaranteed a table. The size is pretty great. We were there a few weeks ago and I was pretty "Eh" about our experience. The service wasn't the best and the buffalo chicken wrap I ordered had honey mustard sauce in it in addition to the buffalo sauce. Pretty funky combo...Pretty strange mistake... Anyway, we were there with a large group and no one was really blown away by their meal either.
